I’m so excited to be dating again! No scandal here – I am dating my husband!!
In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to post about our dating journey and share ideas for dating your spouse for both going out and staying in!
After baby I think we lost sight of how important alone time and dating was – we used to date all of the time, why did we stop?
We have a night out about once a month; these range from fancy to low key. For fancy we will do a nice dinner; tonight we went to The Palm:
For low key we love to bowl – yes I said bowl, it’s actually one of my favorites! There is competition (friendly wager = loser cooks dinner tomorrow!!) and you can relax with a beer in hand, talk and ENJOY each other! We will also go to a local restaurant and just get cocktails and dessert. Top Golf is another fantastic idea so fun (although I might be the worst golfer ever its still fun).
Once a month just wasn’t enough but going out is expensive!! Insert stay in date night – Thursdays! We put Landon to bed and eat dinner just the 2 of us. You can have fun with this and dress up or eat in your formal dining room and cook something fancy! We like fondue because it’s fun and easy and it can set a romantic atmosphere in our dining room by candlelight!

- Cheese Fondue Dip Recipe
- French bread
- Cauliflower and broccoli
Here is my bucket list for some dates this year:
- Picnic at our local park
- Nationals baseball game in spring (we live about 45 minutes from DC)
- Shooting range (yes, I have actually always wanted to do this)
- Cooking class
- Couples massage
- Dance class (if I can convince my husband – might be a stretch…)
- Break out board games or the Wii
In the end it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you are doing it together! What are some of your favorite date night activities?
